This video would go on to become the most viewed Jack Stauber related video on all of YouTube and gain massive popularity, becoming a huge impact on Jack's popularity as a musician. Later on March 12th, 2018, a fan-made music video for Buttercup would be created and uploaded by YouTuber lisuga, consisting of clips from the 2013 Japanese short film Kick-Heart. Later on April 9th, 2017, Jack uploaded a short promo for Pop Food on select social media platforms, featuring a phone recording of a friend telling the viewer to listen to the album.Ībout a year later after the album's release, on February 20th, 2018, Jack would create and upload a very strange and obscure promo video for Pop Food, featuring a CGI floating head with an computer-generated voice singing a vocoded Oh Klahoma in a blank white room with a chair as the room morphs into a face, saying the name of the album. Jack would later upload the full album onto his YouTube channel on March 28th, 2017. For its release, Jack would upload a promotional video titled after the album, which revealed all tracks on the album along with unique 3D animated visuals to go with them. Pop Food would officially release to the public on March 25th, 2017. "p r e p a r e" Promo Video Release & Post-Release It would then reveal the debut time for the album at noon (EST). The promo featured a long creature looking at this computer on Bandcamp, waiting for the debut of Pop Food. A few hours before the official release on March 25th, 2017, a final pre-release promo video titled prepare was uploaded onto select social media platforms. On March 22nd, 2017, Jack uploaded a second promotional video for Pop Food, which would play My Plea in the background, first revealing the track. Jack would also upload a short promo video for the single, featuring Jack singing the song with his eyes zoomed in and distorted. The single cover art uses an old zine art from 2015 of a face with holes for eyes. On March 20th, 2017, Jack would release the second track on Pop Food, Oh Klahoma, as a free single. The promo would feature I Understand playing in the background, first revealing the track. Later, nearly two months after Koi Boy's music video was uploaded, on March 17th, 2017, Jack uploaded a promotional video for Pop Food revealing the album, its cover art, and its release date being on March 25th, 2017. Pop Food was first teased on January 29th, 2017 where Jack would upload the music video for a new song called Koi Boy, which would go on to be the fourth track on Pop Food. The album cover consists of a keyboard with a strawberry, a turkey leg, a lemon, and green jar on top of it with the words POP FOOD written on the keyboard on a black circle over a teal background. The songs are also famous for their very nostalgic and retro sounds. The album consists of a mixture of songs with a genre and feeling of pop, lo-fi, and alternative music.
